The Old Boat by Gregory Smith

The Old Boat by Gregory Smith

This one doesn’t have a tidy narrative of the creation process – there was no initial concept or even an idea for it, but I did want to get back to making a 3D environment after focussing on characters for a few months. A lot of credit for the final result definately lies with the people who gave me such great feedback on my (terrible) wips! If you’re interested in the process then there’s a short breakdown video at the bottom of the page. It’s almost entirely made in Blender, with Substance Painter (maybe the last time I can call it that?) for texturing the main models, and photoshop for the compositing.

Special thanks to Niranjan Raghu, Lukas Walzer, Souvik Karmakar, Zacharias Reinhardt, Sebasti√°n Zapata, and my university tutors for not telling me how bad my renders were smiley
